Nickel & Nickel C.C. Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
|Brand||Nickel & Nickel|
Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon C. C. Ranch is a relatively big Cabernet with 14.9% alcohol compared to the 14.8% of the Element 28 and the 14.3% of Dragonfly. The wine has a dense ruby/purple color, sweet tannin, lush concentrated fruit, a medium to full body and is probably slightly more evolved and fuller than its two predecessors. This wine is another 21-25-year effort from Nickel & Nickel.
Wine SpectatorAromas of rich plum, black cherry and currant firm up nicely on the palate, maintaining a core juiciness, with firm acidity and dusty tannins. The rich fruitiness wins you over in the end. Drink now through 2029. 2,645 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastOn the west side of the Silverado Trail, C.C. Ranch enjoys healthy exposure to light. It shows the ripeness of the vintage as well, exhibiting black, inky color and a thick concentration of dark fruit and chocolate. Woody and herbaceous, it also offers a full-bodied smoothness of tannin, with robust, dusty oak on the finish.
