Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Châteauneuf du Pape La Crau 2011

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

Grapes are hand-picked, with stringent double sorting at the vine. Gentle pressing and selective destemming, followed by 25-35 days' traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel and wooden vats. Pneumatic pressing, then systematic malolactic fermentation. Maturation in vats for the first 10 months, then in foudres (50-70hl) for 12 months. Bottled unfiltered at about 22 months. A classic red Châteauneuf-du-Pape, very fine and elegant. The best vintages will age for 25 years and more.

Wine SpectatorTightly coiled for now, with pepper, garrigue and briar notes wrapped around a core of steeped cherry, damson plum and blackberry fruit. Cedar and sandalwood accents line the finish, revealing a hint of blood orange. Needs some cellaring to unwind fully. Best from 2016 through 2026. 16,700 cases made.
