Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
"Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon presents a dark purple color with garnet tones. The nose is explosive, with red fruit flavors, sweet spice and a touch of fresh mint. The mouthfeel is full yet soft, with red currant and cassis fruit layered with notes of cigar box, leather and light notes of eucalyptus. The finish is focused, with finely grained tannins adding structure and length." —winemaker
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon mixes grapes from different zones of Mendoza, but almost 80% of them come from the cooler Valle de Uco. The production method has not changed, some 30% full clusters with semi-carbonic maceration and 10% of the volume in contact with inner staves. This is significantly fresher and more defined than the 2014, with textbook aromas of tobacco leaves, peppercorns and blackberries. The palate is light to medium-bodied with some polished tannins, and good freshness and balance. This is one of the best vintages of this wine. 1.5 million bottles produced.
